Roseland Government & How Our Borough Operates

Politics
On the national level, Roseland leans toward the Republican Party. In 2004, Republican George W. Bush received 59% of the vote here, defeating Democrat John Kerry, who received around 40%.

Local government
Roseland is governed under the Borough form of New Jersey municipal government. The government consists of a Mayor and a Borough Council comprising six council members, with all positions elected at large. A Mayor is elected directly by the voters to a four-year term of office. The Borough Council consists of six members elected to serve three-year terms on a staggered basis, with two seats coming up for election each year.

On November 3, 2009 during the General Election, please vote for Thomas Tsilionis and Peter Smith for Borough Council. Please help us stabilize the tax increases that are going to effect many households across our fine Borough.

The Mayor of Roseland is John Arvanites. As of 2008, members of the Roseland Borough Council are Diane V. Christiana, John Duthie, David B. Jacobs, Sean McGovern, Thomas M. Moore and Council President Michele Tolli.
