The Roseland School District serves public school students in Kindergarten
through Sixth grade at Lester C. Noecker Elementary School.
Lester C. Noecker Elementary School, had an enrollment of 467 students (as
of 2005-2006). The school was built in 1967. The school mascot is the wise
owl and the colors are red and white.

West Essex High School is located in North Caldwell and serves the four area
sending districts of Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell, and Roseland.
The high school is currently comprised of grades ten through twelve with
a plan to move grade nine into the high school building in September, 2008.
West Essex High School is consistently ranked among the top high schools
in New Jersey Monthly Magazine with a current ranking of 34. Our mission
is to produce self-sufficient citizens who are adaptable to change and who
possess the self-esteem, motivation and skills to achieve success.
Academic excellence remains a hallmark of West Essex. As we move into a global
economy and an ever more increasing technological world, our curriculum is
being updated and improved, while still maintaining a focus on basic knowledge
and the skills to succeed in our new world. West Essex High School is focused
on quality educational experiences that promote excellence through an active
and responsible partnership with the community, a visionary and innovative
curriculum, and a dedicated and knowledgeable staff. Our staff development
programs continue to offer our faculty the support necessary to provide a
superior education to our students.
Our student body of approximately 850 students may choose from 19 Advanced
Placement courses and 125 programs of study. Students with exceptional academic
talent may participate in Advanced Placement courses for college credit.
Effective differentiation takes place at all instructional levels to help
our students develop their abilities to the fullest. Independent thinking
and collaborative work principles are encouraged in our instructional strategies
for students of all levels while technology continues to be infused based
upon the needs of our curriculum and our students. 94% of students go on
to college, with acceptances at some of the best colleges and universities
